The Three Principles were brought into the Lockwood Gardens and Colisseum Gardens Housing Developments.
At the time that the Principles were introduced the housing development was considered the “most murderous place in Oakland”. After the introduction of the Principles to the community the homicide rate dropped to 0. Those improvements have lasted 10 years. Some Newspapers referred to it as ” The Miracle on 65th Street”
In Oakland, California; with funding from the San Francisco Foundation, the East Bay Project was created to train volunteers on how to introduce the Principles into the community through their current roles as volunteers in local organizations. This funding also allowed development of foundational Center for Sustainable Change Online Training Programs and the technology to support them.
There is an ongoing meetup group – East Bay Three Principles (EB3P) Inside Out Understanding that meets periodically to share ideas and insights.
